Vacuum Leak ? 700 1985

After reading about vacuum leaks, I was thinking I needed to check for them (1985 740 turbo) since I occasionally get a high idle (1500 RPM) and a lot of vibration when at 750 to 1000 RPM. I tried the propane test but my tank was low, so I took a 3/8 inner diameter hose and listened around the engine. There was pretty loud hissing coming from the hose going down to the IAC valve. I am wondering if that is normal to hear up close to that hose or do I have a leak in it. I am not sure if the noise is just being propagated though that hose from the IAC valve. I never listened to one before so I am not sure what is normal. Please advise.

Thanks,
Randy
