740 Wagon Antenna 700

I replaced my 740 Wagon antenna about a month ago (OEM Volvo parts). With a friend, we fed it into the existing tube and the motor picked it up and reeled it in. It was working fine initially, however it seems that it is getting noisier and is frequently not fully retracting. Any thoughts on what I might have done wrong?
