The A/C in my wife's '79 244 hasn't been in operation since she bought it a few years ago. We had it checked out yesterday to determine what it would take to have it working again. Everything's shot, partly because hoses, etc. had been disconnected. It certainly wouldn't be worthwhile to have someone do it. 'compressor is shot, lines are full of crud, etc. Is there a practical way to go about replacing the system? Incidentally, I teach at a community college with an automotive department, and it was a friend of mine who checked the car out.
Thanks for the help,
Jim Hampton
