1990 no start...part 3? 200 1990

Ok, I have verified no spark. I did replace the FI computer and restored the pump prime function. Soooo.......at least that was not a waste.

I am getting voltage to the ignition power stage and to the ignition coil. All my grounds at the power stage and ignition ECU are good. Ignition ECU is getting power where and when it is supposed to be.

However, When I check the signal line from the ignition to the power stage, I dont read much over 100-200 millivolts. Either chilton or haynes (cant remember which) states that I should see a flucuating 0-2 volts at terminal 5 of the power stage during cranking. I have checked the power stage end and the ECU end. I dont know if the very low reading I see is correct or not. I know since the meter is going to average out the reading if its duty cycle is high, I wont see a very high voltage. I just wanted to know if anyone else has checked this before. What did you see? FYI, I tried digital and analog multimeters. I may pull out the oscilloscope and see what that shows, but I wanted to see what everyone else thinks.

I would think that the books would take into account any averaged readings on most meters. Does this mean my ignition ECU is fried? If the low reading is correct, then my power stage is gone.

PO did replace the ignition ECU and it fixed the problem temporarily. BTW, all inputs to the ignition are present and correct.

Thanks,
Anthony
