Fan conversion in hot climates, particularly Australia 200 1988

1. Is it worth doing the fan conversion in the subtropics? (Where I live (Brisbane) would be on a similar parallel to Southern Texas/Florida.)

2. Have any Aussies done the job? WHat local parts did you use?
