82 240 surging.... 200

I just bought a 1982 240 wagon with 240k miles. It has developed an intermittent "surge" or "jolt". It does not do it all the time. Both warm and cold. I replaced the fule pre pump and it still did not help. Almost seems like it is electrical.. Any ideas? Thank you
