high and irratic idle. 900 1994

THE PROBLEM IS A HIGH IDLE IN PARK OR NEUTRAL. THIS HAPPENS ONLY PART TIME AND IT IDLES AT ABOUT 2000 RPM. MY CAR IS AN 1994 940 NON-TURBO WAGON WITH 158,000 MILES. AT NORMAL IDLE IT IS AT 750 TO 1000 RPM. CAN ANYONE OUT THERE GIVE ME AN IDEA OF WHERE TO LOOK. THANKS DEREK.
