Dome light door switch 200 1992

I removed the dome light door switch (passenger side) to try to find the cause of intermittent lighting and noticed only one wire was connected to the switch terminals. I couldn't pull the switch out very far (about 1/2 inch) as the wire had very little play.
Now the light does not work at all and I assume when I pulled the switch out the other wire/connector slipped off the terminal and now resides somewhere in that little "black hole". I cannot see much in the hole even with a flashlight. Is there a way to fish the missing wire/connector out without going thru major grief?
