First things first, this is my first Volvo, a 1988 240 DL with O/D. My background is in old Series Land Rovers so a lot this Volvo stuff is new to me. Sorry for the dumb questions.
1). Odometer stopped working at 116,XXX and when I got it the tranny was full of coolant. I got the coolant/transmission thing fixed but now it shifts very high into 3rd at about 48 m.p.h. I've noticed the kickdown cable is not attached at the throttle body cam where the throttle cable is attached, what exactly does this cable do? Also, it does not move inside of the cable sheath by hand. Would this affect shifting?
2). All of the lenses are cracked/broken where is the best place for aftermarket repair parts? Also, the map pockets on the front doors are broken.
3). Very intermittent squeal when the heater is going. Sounds like it's coming from behind the radio/dash. Blower motor?
Well I guess that's about it for now, I've got to get back to working on my new ride.
