Metal finish 1800 1965

Can someone help with the original finish on the valve cover. I'm sure it wasn't chrome, but not sure if it was zinc plated, or cadnimum plated. The heat shield behind the carburetors looks to be the same type plating. I'd like to have this done before installing the newly rebuilt carbs. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks, I'm havin fun.
