Brakes question 700

My brake discs are fairly new, or so the guy told me when I bought the car, but the car has been standing over 6 months here (only driven occasionally for test drives) and at his place for several months. The discs are now covered in rust and so are the calipers. Question 1: is it advisable to replace really rusty brake discs or will the rust wear off as the car is used? Question 2: Can I repaint the calipers and if so, with what?
