Today I went and got my yearly Safety and Emission Test for my 1991 745 Turbo. I passed both test with flying colors. As of May 2002 Houston went to a two part emmission test rather than a one part emissiontesting. Two parts means low speed and high speed emission testing rather than just one part/low speed only emission testing. (Your drive wheels goes on a dynometer.)
The standard for low speed and what I received are as as follow:
HC (ppm): < 128 I got 72
CO (%) : < .71 I got .09
NOX (ppm): < 970 I got 372
Dilution : > 6.0% I got 15.0%
The standard for high spead and what I received are as follows:
HC (ppm): < 123 I got 47
CO (%) : < .69 I got .03
NOX (ppm): < 878 I got 135
Dilution : > 6.0% I got 15.1%
The inspector was suprised my car passed with such low numbers, because the two cars he inspected before mine, 1992 BMW 325 and 1991 Toyota Cressida both failed there emission testing.
Thanks to the Brickboarders and the 700/900 FAQ for helping me with my car.
