Bought a clean looking 760gle as my son's first car.

Yep, instantly found out ALL about the traumas to be had on a hot day when that sneaky little other pump in the petrol tank that no-one tells you about, don't work.

(Ceased forward progression,in the bush, two hour wait for a mobile mechanic who gleefully informed us that in fact, "the car doesn't work.") Insert HUGE amounts of time here to get back to civilization.

Repairs were speedily undertaken by our town's friendly mechanical engineer and part time undertaker. "holy sh.. - this bricks got TWO pumps. what the heck's this thing need TWO pumps fur?" Hell, jus leave me with a bucket a money an I'll get her runnin' sweet as.... no,no, jus' leave the whole damn money wallet an I'll git back to ya next week sometime--hack---snagg--snoof"
(Sorry, I must explain at this point, the friendly mechanical engineer was not the author of those last three adjectives, rather they were utterances eminating from one charlie bird, a long time, poorly house trained resident and, I fear, business advisor, firmly seated upon FME,s left shoulder.)

And so we waited. The moon was now in the third phase -- in an effort to reduce transport costs in the interim, my son purchased shares in the local bus company, when..... one wonderous, glorious day the Volvo, resplendent in its new sheen of eau de oilragwipe, rolled into the drive. (Oh yea brother! and under it's own power too!)

Keys and car surrendered, economical amputation complete, the friendly mechanical engineer is heading back out the gate now in his hearst cum customer service vehicle, with the contents of my wallet, next months alimony payment and three of my prize goats.

Still, idling beside me, the volvo is again making those soothing,comforting, warm volvo sounds (as they do) and I cunningly slip into the drivers seat and out onto the open road with the engine in sneak mode,the sunroof sliding smoothly back, the CD stacker rooting around for my favourite notes, and my elbow resting on the sill, almost pimpishly.
Oh god I love this car.
I mean gosh, It's not that bad, I can always charm a few goats from next door tonight with a bit of bread, and the ex is a sucker for a sob story.

I promise myself just one short luxurious cruise around town then I'll take it back home to the kid!!!! Really......I mean it....get that look off your monitor....sheesh.
