Headlight Housing R and R 200

I've got a 1986 240DL with very bad plastic over the lights. Cracks, condensation, discoloration etc., I’ve got it all. I’ve looked through my Haynes Manual and the directions are vague to say the least. How can I change out the housing/front glass? I’ve searched the archives but so far I can’t find exactly what I’m looking for.
