This condition is sometimes cleared by stopping and starting the engine and sometimes by cycling the connector to the AMM while the engine is running. This led me to change out the AMM recently which seemed to clear things up for about a week. Nosing around a bit with a DMM I noticed that pins 1,2,3and 5 on the AMM are grounded (key off). Pins 3 and 5 are shown on the circuit diagram as inputs to the ECU (pin 7,9). Is this normal? I checked the AMM that I replaced and it has the same pins grounded. Unfortunately, I don't know if both are bad (now) or what. Checking the ECU connector, I am finding several pins grounded that are shown as inputs (7,9,18, etc) which is a bit concerning unless, of course, this is the normal status for these with the key off. I'll recheck these in the morning with the key on. Some of the details of the symptoms include a total loss of power while under full boost that tends to be worse while in the boost range. Sort of reminds me of the way the car runs if you disconnect the AMM or when your turbo bypass valve comes loose. Also, disconnecting the AMM always affects the idle so the AMM is still functioning under this condition. I did try to drive with the AMM disconnected (forcing a limp home mode) and the car basically would not drive and I heard poping noises from the engine.
