Great tip on idle air problem 700

Hi,
I just wanted to pass on that a tip I read here helped out a lot. My idle is smooth but seems to land at 750 sometimes, 1100 other times, etc. I tested the throttle switch, cleaned the IAC valve, fixed all vacuum leaks and replaced manfold and throttle gaskets. I suspected it was the IAC valve but did not want to order one at $100 until I was sure.

The tip I read was to whack the valve with a screwdriver handle and sure enough it dropped to 750. I ordered the valve today with confidence that it is the correct fix. Great tip!
