The oil pressure light started flashing on my way home tonight. I checked the oil, which was changed less than 1000 miles ago, and the level was fine, but it seemed quite thin. After rubbing what was on the dipstick between my fingers, they smell like gas. I didn't do too much more poking around as it's very dark here at this hour. I will pull a few plugs in the morning.
What could be causing this? Could a faulty fuel pressure regulator be to blame? I imagine the cold start injector could be stuck on, but it still ran fine with no power loss. My '82 has a "manual" CSI that occasionally gets left on. After about five minutes, the engine just dies.
Any thoughts/suggestions are greatly appreciated.
