Looked at a number of 960's and an V90. So far the V90 with 103K miles has caught my eye the most. It is a dealer trade in and still "as is", still needs detailing and servicing. They are open to offers in this "as is" state.
Following are the things I noted.
Driver side door handle does not open from the outside, inside works and locking system works.
Climate control vents do not redirect the air, only air is coming out the bottom, no air from defrost or dash vents. AC compressor does come on but cycles. Temp outside was about 45 degrees.
Brakes rotors need replacing all around as evidenced by a significant ridge at the outer edge on them all.
Seats and interior in good condition, outside clean, everything else seems to work.
Engine sounds good, can only hear the injectors, no other noises. Oil clean. Timing belt was changed 71K on schedule, good tires.
Noticed that the coolant was low, before my test drive we filled it, took about a 1/2 gallon. Seems to be a scum that floated to the top and the reservoir insides very dirty. Seems previous owner neglected this.
I am thinking of making an offer to buy as is for $6500 and I think they will accept.
Looking for opinions. Brakes, door lock seems simple enough to fix myself however I have heard bad stories here about the climate control servos. Are they hard to access and fix?
Looking for any opinions and advice.
