ignition rotor not coming off!!! 93 200

The car is back and running again. After giving the fuse panel a good cleaning and fixing a ground strap. My question is I cannot get the ignition rotor to come off of my 93 240!! Is there a trick? The new part just looks like a key for correct placement and a piece of metal for tension so I would think it should pull off somewhat easy. Any tricks/advice would be appreciated!
