Update on my torque rod saga plus is Art listening? 200 1983

Just an update, I hate it when people talk about what to do and get suggestions on repairs and stuff and never write back in whether or not any of the suggestions/hints worked and fixed their problem!!!

I picked up the stock "butterfly" torque rod bushings this morning and squeezed them in with the vise. Even after lubing up real good (About a 10:1 mix of Dawn and water) the bushing was not wanting to start real good and I didb't want the rubber to tear so I put a hose clamp on the end that went in first (to get it started) and they slid right in. Probably about 5 minutes start to finish then another 10 minutes to install the torque rod back into the car.

If I would have had the correct bushings Saturady I expect this jobe would have taken about 30 minutes per side total. Now, the rear trailing arm bushing looks like a different story...

Question for Art:

I could not find 2" NPT Steel End Caps anywhere so ordered 2 cast iron jobbers and the grade 8 hardware from McMaster. I know the parts list for the tool, that you had design input on, specified not to use cast iron but I cannot find steel ones anywhere in that diameter. Any words of wisdom here?

Thanks all,

Justin B.
