Control Pressure Regulator 200 1981

Message directed to Bob Davis (Old Volvo Mechanic):
Have a 1981 245 GLT 4 Speed + Overdrive that has served me faithfully. Lately I have been experiencing some problems which I think you might have the solution (based on your postings). From difficulty starting which I sought to alleviate by changing some valve/regulator under the car in the gas line. It was flooded and needed change and replacement did solve the problem of starting. However, I have been noticing a drop in mileage as a result of the current state.
I sought to lean the mixture out expecting to obtain some marginal increase in mileage instead I am experiencing a marginal decrease.

After looking at a series of post you made back in '81 regarding Poor starting when cold, I am seeking your help in determining if I do need to replace the "control pressure regulator." The symptoms you decribed in prescribing a solution for that member fit me to a "T". How would a failed control pressure regulator affect mileage?? Where could i pick up one??? Are they rebuilt??
Any help would very much appreciated.

Thanks
Trainer
