Rough starting and gas smell

Hi, I have been having a problem lately with my B230F engine, when I first start in the morning it stalls, then starts on the second try but runs as if it is missing for about 30 seconds then it will rev ok and run well. Yesterday I opened the hood, started her up and she did the same thing and I noticed a strong gas smell that went away after about a minute. Any diagnosis? This is my daily driver and has been for over 7 years at 70 miles a day and I wouldn't trade her for another, Thanks! Noel Smith
