Hi All,
It's been a while since I posted, but since I bought a 91 wagon to replace my 83, about 3 years ago, _nothing_ has gone wrong, except routine brake pad and muffler replacement.
The story so far. Cold here in Ottawa, on Monday, 'check engine' came on, engine started loosing power, and my homemage exhaust gas oxygen meter pinned on 0.9 V plus. Lots of unburned fuel smell outside of car. Limped home, stalling at intersections, and checked/cleared codes on pin 2 of OBD, codes as above. Suspecting ice in the fuel line I dumped in gas line antifreeze, and a portion of fuel injector cleaner, then ran around the block a few times in low gear, at higher than normal RPM's. Problem solved, so it seemed.
Last night, same symptoms, barely limped home. Checked the voltage on the O2 sensor (unplugged from computer and EGO, and got 2.5 (Wow) Checked for rich running per FAQ, and no change in voltage. Checked the limp home mode on the AAM (without driving it around) and idle goes smooth, and it revs smooth.
One theory I'm thinking on is that one or more injectors is open, hence rich. I'm going home early today to work on it, but I thought I'd check in here first.
Thanks in advance for any advice
Marten
