transmission fluid leak

I recently had my 740GLE rear seal replaced. Two months later, my transmission fluid is all but gone, and leaks when replaced. I've never had a transmission fluid leak before. Could this have been caused during the rear seal job, or is it just coincidence that one followed the other?
