I live in sunny California. My neighbor asked me how often idle cars should be started and/or driven if the cars are not normally driven on a daily basis, ie sit for long periods of time. I've heard that it's important to keep the battery charged and also lubricate the engine parts such that the car should be started and idled at least to normal operating temperature. I just remembered that fuel can destabilize over time (2 months?) and acidfiy. I'm wondering if charging the battery with a battery charger once weekly might reduce the once weekly lore of starting the car up. Also, can you think of any other critical parts that would benefit from these regular start ups?
