Well, after around 5 hours (man I'm slow) I got my Oil Pressure gauge in. Overall went pretty smoothly, but a few questions have arisen out of it. First of all, how are you supposed to use the 45 degree elbow to give extra clearance for the sending unit. I tried all kinds of ways to screw it on and most wouldn't even work, the one that did had it aimed at the exhaust manifold and not missing the heat shield by much (didn't seem like a good idea to me). I just installed the sending unit right into the adapter (metric to SAE) but would like to get it out some because it is so close to the alternator. Anyone have a picture maybe that could help me. Also, in the process I routed the idiot light wire with my sending unit wire and spliced in right at the grey block. I think I want to replace more of the wires coming out of the grey block. ( I know the insulation is starting to go)What colors go where? Lastly, the gauge shows 5 bar whens its cold and the lowest it ever registered was a little below 4 at warm idle. Is this similar to anyone elses readings. This car is a B230F 1985 244 DL. Thank you.
