Yesterday it stopped raining long enough for me to start removing the wet carpet in my '88 745t. No room in the garage. So far I've removed the front seats, rear seat cushions, front footwell carpets, and console from the shifter back.
I'll need to get the insulation pulled which looks like a single piece crossing the trasmission tunnel under the center console. That's where I stopped as it started to rain again. LOTS of water in the driver's footwell and it's running back under the seat to the left passenger footwell.
It's apparant, on the driver's side that the air vent plug is leaking. How does this pop out? It's in tight but water can be felt along its lower edge. I want to pull it out and reseal. Also, does the sunroof drain show up in this area? I'll check the FAQ.
The rain started about the time I got stuck removing the front passenger kickpanel. I've removed the one obvious screw and can feel a clip or mount under the front edge near the firewall. I don't want to break it. How does it come off?
I'll be pulling the center console today or tomorrow and will use this time to also find out it an 850's SC 816(?) stereo can be made to fit in the existing stereo & cig lighter/tray opening.
Thanks,
