Our 1982 244 GLT has a driver's door problem. After sitting out in an ice storm overnight the driver's door would not latch shut. I made the mistake of pushing the driver's door lock down and closing the door. It now is locked shut and will not open. The power locks still function when pulling up or pushing down on the driver's door lock but it is not unlocking the driver's door. The car is now inside and I am in the process of warming the area up, but I have a feeling this problem will not go away by sitting in a warm space.

Has anyone else had this problem in the past and how did you solve it? Is it possible to remove the inner door panel with the door closed (without distroying the door panel)?
