wagon rear door interchangability and rust issues 200 1987

When i walk to class, I usually pass a newer 245 with the flush glass rear window. I always get the idea of stealing it for my 87 (or at least finding on at a junkyard). Can it be used in my 87? or is there something different in the structure to keep it from being interchangable?

also, the reason i want to replace it is because of the rust that i've been fighting at the bottom of the door. Has anyone rehab'd the drainage system with any success? I was thinking of trying to clear out holes, as well as maybe drilling some new ones. right now, the door drains water when it's opened. Because of this, I doubt it drains when it's closed.

Thanks
