Auto tranny filter screen thing 200

In my 91 245SE with AW70 tranny... I have become slightly pissed off at my transmission. The shift from 2nd to 3rd... is kinda really soft and almost feels like slipping. Ever since I bought the car at 138k it has been like this.. the car currently has 156k. I would have thought this was normal.. BUT my uncle has 2 93 240's with the AW70 tranny.. and his 2nd to third shift is very quick and firm. I have flushed the tranny once.. and the crap that came out looked like it was used engine oil.. THAT BAD. I used the cheapest stuff, Coastal ATF, and it took 12 qts till the stuff looked somewhat better. I didn't flush till perfectly clean though.. since all I purchased was one case. I used the coolany lines to flush the tranny.. and not the drop the pan crap. Would using the cheap stuff cause this? Should I re-flush the system? Should I replace the tranny filter screen? Give me some help here so I can make my tranny feel like it is supposed to.
