fried tranny 200 1990

Well I got caught by the leaking rear transmission seal on my '90 240DL. It had been a slow leak for a long time, so I checked every 2 weeks and added fluid when needed until I could repair it-never needed much. Then this week it started shifing hard. When I checked, it was 2 quarts down. (Ouch). I had the bushing and seal replaced. Now when I drive it at 50MPH or more there is noticiably more vibration than before, Ibut it still shifts quite smoothly. The repair shop also told me that there is an AT fluid leak from the front of the tranny, but they could not tell exactly where from (fluid spread around too much). They power washed it and told me to come back in a couple of days so they could identify the source. Given the history, added vibration, and the second leak, does this sound like a repair or replace job?
