Ok, this is not good (gas tank related) 200 1986

I was filling up the tank, after the first shut off on the nozzle, I put about (.1-.3) gallons more before it shut off. Drove about 2 miles to another gas station to check my tire pressure (no machine at the first one). While doing the rear tire, I noticed that the gas was dripping down from underneath the car right onto the exhaust pipe. (pass side behind spring) Dripping about like a barely open faucet. Thank god the pipe was not that hot, the car cold. It's a wagon, I checked the pipe neck on the inside and it was fine.

So I waited stupidly untill it stopped leaking, with the car off and hoping nothing would happen. After about maybe 15 minutes it stopped. Like it never happened.

So what needs to be replaced? Anyone know if there is a vent or something around the tank. Maybe the gas station nozzle was faulty?
