Air hose fittings.

Acme makes some nice reusable air hose fittings for the ends of air compressor hoses in various sizes at very reasonable prices. Can I use these fittings for oil applications - ATF and engine oil? I can't seem to think of a reason why the fittings wouldn't work with oil just wanted to be sure.
