Where is the Remote Starter Serice Port? 200 1986

So I'm wanting to do a compression test on my '86 240 and I'm hoping to use a remote starter switch so I don't have to involve the wife. My Bentley's manual shows in the diagram of the starter circuit that there's a service socket betwen the ignition switch and the starter solenoid, but they don't quite indicate where it is geographically inside the engine compartment. I've searched around located two likely candidates:

- a single wire connector sticking out of the wiring harness on the firewall behind the intake manifold

- a two wire connector sticking out of the wiring harness behind the battery near the PS pump resevoir and next to the ignition coil.

I'm guessing it's the single wire connector behind the firewall, but before I put 12v to it and fry something, I wanted to make sure.

Also, does anyone know the name of that type of connector so that maybe I could buy a mate for it? Right now, I'm planning on just jamming a wire in there...

Thanks!
