I recently noted the code 2-3-1 on my car, 1989 240 DL B230F sedan (LH3.1 or 2.4?)

Haven;t checked it for five months. Before it was always 1-1-1 (no problem).

Recent changes I made are fuel pressure regulator (bosch fcp groton) and in-tank assembly (VDO fcp groton).

Can the fpr be defective?
