740 Ignition Switch 700 1990

I need instruction for getting access to ignition switch on '90 740T wagon in order to replace electical part of switch. I have removed the panels below the dashboard, but there is a metal brace extending from near firewall to dashboard that effectively blocks access to switch. I have not yet removed steering wheel or wiper and turn signal switches since it does not appear this would help.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.
