lope in engine when in gear idling 700 1990

When the car is in neutral it has a slight lope but when put into drive or reverse it lopes 200-300rpm. It is a 740 with a regina system. I installed a ipd performance car and gear. Does anybody have any idea what my problem could be. I was told by IPD that it could be the idle motor. If so does anyone know where it is and how to check it? Thanks
