960 Hesitation 900 1997

I think my 960's suicidal. For the third time since I've owned the car, it's hesitated during a time when I NEED to get moving. I'll hit the gas, but the car seems to stay on idle for 2 to 3 seconds. Every time this has occured, the car had been started in the past 4-5 minutes, and I've opened the throttle to 1/4-1/2 the way. Any ideas what could be causing this? The car is a 1997 964 with 103,000mi.
