car just shut off while driving? 700 1987

I was driving my 740gle wagon when she just shut off, she started back after a few seconds, it seemed like it was flooded out but the only problem i still have is a idle the arrow for the overdrive on the dash is dimly lit up and goes away when revved up.Any help would be appreciated.
