Tips, experiences with removing and working on fuel distribtors???? 200 1980

I'm going to swap out my fuel distributor with my mashed 80 system, which was working fine before the crash, What I need to know is what holds it in? Is it bolted to the block or to the intake. Looks like a large rubber inlet connects the whole mess to the intake. I'm taking injectors and lines and everything. Not leaving anything to chance. Thanks as always. 0-60 in 10.3 mins is too damn dangerous!!!
