Flickering oil light 120-130 1966

Question from a novice (1.5 on the IPD scale).

A new phenomena: my oil light flickers after a cold start as I make sharp or gentle right turns. It abates somewhat as the car warms up but will occasionally do it at normal operating temp and when I downshift to a stop. Dipstick indicates I don't need oil. Does this indicate a problem with the oil pump? Maybe a sensor? Thanks in advance.
