Timing Belt Change - Crank Pulley Removal 200 1987

Hi All,

Removing the crank pulley, the manual advises sticking a screwdriver into the gears in the tourque converter to stop the crank from turning. There must be a better way to accomplish this? Any pointers?

If not, are these covers to remove and find the gears the little plastic grates on the tranny bottom?
