960 Fuel Gage 900

Last night while running errands, I noticed my fuel gage climbing toward FULL. If I were incredibly naive, I would be happy that my tank was being filled as I drive. However.....just like the government suppressed 200 mpg carburetor, I know this isn't happening.

Anyone have any idea if this would tend to be the sending unit in the tank or the gage? I briefly looked in a Chilton manual last night and it said the sending unit could be accessed through the trunk. Coincidentally, the light behind the LCD for the outside temp was not working either.

Any advice would be truly appreciated! Thanks!!!
