Water leak in footwell 700 1985

Hope you people may be able to help with a problem I have with a 1985 Volvo 740. I've got water coming in to the passenger footwell (left side of the car)
If I pour water over the wind screen it quickly finds it's way into the footwell from around the area of the heater fan. I guess there must be a seel some where on an air intake above the fan which has failed. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find this leak? Any help much appreciated.
