volvo 760 garbage, losing faith

i have a 90 760, piece of garbage. i have given up on it after about 14 grand and 140k mi. nor including the price of the car (2 yrs ago 3000$). anyways to get to the point i am thinking of buying a 240, non turbo. does anyone else dumb money into these cars or is it just me? are they actually reliable because it seems like a myth. any response is appriciated.
