Tuning carbs w/ Air-Fuel Ratio Meter? 140-160

I recently posted a message regarding converting from FI to carbs on a B20. Along those lines, I was wondering if the use of an A/F ratio meter in a carbed engine (i.e. B20 w/dual SUs or Webers, etc.) would yield any benefits in regards to getting the carbs set correctly. Of course the accuracy would depend on the quality of the gauge and the sending unit, however, I am wondering if this is even useful in tuning carbs.

Here is an article I found that details the building of an inexpensive A/F meter (LED style) from a kit. If one were to use this type of meter in conjunction with a heated o2 sensor in the exhaust manifold or downpipe, would tuning a carburetor be any easier or more predictable? The theory being that reliable empirical data will lead to more repeatable (and hopefully successful) tuning results.

Let's hear some input!
