My car, 1987 Volvo 240 DL just failed Texas emission test due to high NOx and I am hoping that some of the guys here would make an educated guess as to what may be wrong and how to fix it, before I do some expensive replacement, such as catalytic converter, as recommneded by a guy who did testing.
This car drives and starts just fine, I owned it for five years. Here are the actual readings from the test:
