i have a 1990 volvo 745 gle with the cam style rack and pinion system. it had water in one of the boots which caused a loose tie rod, the boot did not crack so i was wondering how the water got in? if i took a tie rod off a car with a zf type rack and took the rubber disk out would it work on the cam rack? and what is the difference?
