distributor cap and rotor replacement 900

Just curious what is the easiest way to remove the bolts on the rear mounted Bosch distributor on my 95 945?? Use a ratcheting type box wrench?? they look a liitle bit tough to reach near the firewall... Also remove the wires before doing this.. Should I use diectric grease in the distributor boots and on spark boots??? Does the rotor just pop right on?? Trying to anticpate from the boards experience before I get in there.. Thanks again guys...JOHN
