Quick question on Trani Mount 200 1989

I put a new Trani mount in this weekend. Simple enough job. I took it apart with Impact gun so I didn't get a feel for how tight to make the Nuts holding the Mount to the brackets. So when installing the new mount to the Trani bracket the mount stayed put but when I tightened up to the Cross member the Mount started to twist a bit. Too tight? I backed off until the mount straightened up. My thought was that it's sandwiched between brackets, where's it going anyway.
